Wakulla County Historical Society

About

Located at 24 High Dr Crawfordville, FL 32327

The Wakulla County Historical Society was founded in October 1991 to collect, preserve, exhibit and interpret the heritage of Wakulla County and the surrounding area.  We are located at the Wakulla County Museum and Archives in Crawfordville, Florida.  The members are actively involved in the restoration of the old jail building, which was built in 1949.  It is one of the few remaining Art Deco jail buildings that have not been architecturally modified.  The museum houses the genealogy library, exhibit rooms, research areas, and a gift shop. Volunteers are available at the museum to assist you with historical and genealogical research.
